Questions & Answers

The things people ask before booking. If yours isn’t here, call me — I don’t mind questions.

Before you book

How much does it cost?

Typical per-visit prices for every service are on the pricing page. Beyond that, every home gets quoted individually, because the exact figure depends on things I can’t guess over the phone: how big it is, how many bathrooms, what condition it’s in, and how often you want it done. Two houses with identical floor plans can be half a day apart.

So I come and look, walk through with you, and give you a straight figure. Quotes are free and there’s no obligation — plenty of people get one and think about it, and that’s fine.

How do I get a quote?

Call or text 360-643-2644, or send the quote form. Tell me roughly where you are, how big the place is and what you’re after, and I’ll arrange a time to come and see it — usually within a few days.

Do I need a contract?

No. No contract, no minimum term, no cancellation fee for stopping. Regular clients keep their slot because they want it, not because they’re tied in. If it isn’t working, tell me.

How far ahead should I book?

For a regular slot, as early as you can — there are only so many hours in my week and the popular times go first. For a one-off deep clean, usually a week or two. For a move-out on a fixed date, tell me as soon as you know, even if the date might move.

Vacation rental turnovers for the summer should be arranged in early spring. Summer fills up completely.

On the day

Is it always the same cleaner?

Always. This is a one-person business — I’m the only person who will ever be in your home. No crews, no rotating staff, no subcontractors, nobody you haven’t met.

It’s the main reason people choose me over a larger company, and it’s why I keep the business small on purpose.

Do I need to be home?

No, and most of my regular clients aren’t. We’ll agree access that suits you — a key, a lockbox, a door code. Because it’s only me, you know exactly who holds it.

If you’d rather be there, especially for the first visit or two, that’s completely fine and often helpful.

Do you bring supplies?

Yes, everything — products, cloths, vacuum, mop. It’s included.

If you’d rather I used your own products, just leave them out. Common reasons: a stone or sealed worktop, a septic system, allergies, small children, pets, or simply a scent you can’t stand. Tell me and I’ll use yours without any fuss.

What about pets?

Dogs and cats are no trouble at all, and I’d honestly rather they stayed loose than got shut in a room getting anxious about the vacuum.

Just tell me the rules beforehand — who bolts for an open door, who isn’t allowed upstairs, who is nervous of strangers, and whether anyone needs letting out.

What if I need to cancel or move a visit?

Life happens — just give me as much notice as you reasonably can so I can fill the slot. A day or two is plenty. Repeated same-day cancellations are harder, because that time is gone, but I’m not going to charge you for being ill.

Are you insured?

Yes — ask me and I’ll give you the details. It’s a fair question and one you should ask anyone you let into your home.

What’s included

What’s the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?

A regular clean is about the surfaces you see and use: kitchen, bathrooms, dusting, floors, beds, bins. It keeps a home at a steady standard.

A deep clean is everything behind and underneath that — inside the oven, behind the fridge, grout, skirting boards, door frames, light fittings, window tracks. It takes roughly three to four times as long.

Most people start with one deep clean to set the standard, then a regular schedule to hold it.

Can you do laundry, oven or windows?

Yes to all three. Inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, interior windows, inside cupboards, laundry and ironing can be added to any visit — just ask when we’re arranging it so I can allow the time.

What don’t you do?

Exterior windows, gutters, carpet shampooing, lofts and crawl spaces, pressure washing, and anything needing a ladder above standing height. I also won’t handle biohazards or pest problems, construction debris removal, or sites where masonry has been cut — see post-construction cleaning for what I do and don’t take on after building work.

None of that is me being difficult — it’s work that needs different equipment and different insurance. I’m happy to point you at someone local who does it properly.

Do you clean vacation rentals?

Yes — turnover cleaning for short-term lets in Port Ludlow, Port Townsend and around. Flat rate per turn, linens handled, restocked to your list, and a photo report sent when I lock up.

Book the season in early spring; summer fills.

What areas do you cover?

Port Hadlock and Irondale, Port Townsend, Port Ludlow, and Kala Point and Cape George — everywhere within about fifteen minutes of Port Hadlock.

Slightly outside and not sure? Ask. The answer is often yes.
